Mobile Lab Truck : Chemistry on The Go

Activity description:

16:00-16:30 the Story about Gold Horn and Silver Horn in Journey to the West-Chen His-Huang Traditional Puppet Troupe

In Journey to the West, Gold Horn and Silver Horn are two monsters in Lotus Cave of Pingding Mountain, and serve under Taishang Laojun (Supreme Venerable Lord who creates Taoism) as guards of golden furnaces. They obey the order made by Buddha to challenge Tang Xuanzhang (or called Tripitaka) and his three disciples in Jinguashi as Buddha borrowing Gold Horn and Silver Horn from Taishang Laojun wants to test Tang Xuanzhang’s determination. Gold Horn and Silver Horn struggle with Sun Wukong, (or called Monkey King) one of the disciples of Tang Xuanzhang. In the end, Sun Wukong wins the fight, and sends Gold Horn and Silver Horn back to Taishang Laojun. This story is a typical plot in Budaixi, the puppet show. Chen His-Huang, Taiwanese national treasure, demonstrates experiment equipment used only in chemistry laboratory by manipulating puppets. Puppet Master Chen mixes the plot of Journey to the West with a chemistry experiment demonstration, and performs Budaixi on cailou (or called color pavilion for puppet performance stage). The story climaxes with the change of chemistry experiments and the conversations of characters.

16:00~16:30西遊記之金角與銀角-陳錫煌傳統掌中劇團

在西遊記的故事中，金角大王與兄弟銀角大王是平頂山蓮花洞的兩個妖怪。原是太上老君門下看守金爐的童子，菩薩為了試驗唐僧的決心，向太上老君借來金銀二童子，下凡到金瓜石一帶變作妖怪磨礪唐僧一行人，與孫悟空比武鬥法最後孫悟空戰勝金、銀二怪，返還給太上老君。這樣的一個耳熟能詳的故事，是布袋戲掌中劇非常經典的一個段子，由台灣國寶陳錫煌師傅透過布袋戲偶的手，操作孩子們在化學實驗室中才能用到的實驗器材，在西遊記的腳本中融入科學實驗的操作，在傳統的布袋戲彩樓上，讓化學實驗的變化隨著劇情人物的對話，將故事推向最高潮。

16:30-17:00 Introduction of Chemistry Truck and Chemistry Magic Show – Center for Science Education, Tamkang University

The cailou for Budaixi this time is set up by the team of Chemistry on the Go on the chemistry truck. The team of Chemistry on the Go has been holding more than 500 sessions of chemistry education activities by touring in Taiwan since 2011. The chemistry car is at the core of the activity and the performance stage. In the beginning of every session, staff in Center for Science Education, Tamkang University perform a chemistry magic show with chemistry and talk shows to interact with audiences and introduce the change of chemistry experiments to students. The performances include the introduction of chemistry car, activities of chemistry on the go and the chemistry magic show.

本次表演的布袋戲彩樓，是搭載化學遊樂趣車隊的化學車上，這個車隊在過去九年間，延續著自2011年開始的化學教育推廣活動，不斷的在台灣各地巡迴，至今已累計了近五百個場次的活動，化學車是這個活動的中心，也是表演的舞台，在每一場活動的開始，都會進行一段由淡江科教的工作人員結合化學與脫口秀進行的化學魔術秀，與觀眾的互動、將化學實驗的變化介紹給參與活動的同學，本段節目除了由淡江科教的人員介紹化學車隊與化學遊樂趣活動，也將在化學車的舞台前進行一段化學魔術表演

Shuttle bus: Guests who have registered for the banquet should take the shuttle bus at the university main gate by 17:20 on July 30^th, 2019. The time of leaving the restaurant is at 21:00.

Karaoke is set up on the site of the banquet. Participants should first select songs on Youtube by cellphones, tell the staff, and get ready to sing on stage.

Taiwan beers are prepared on the banquet. Please enjoy it.

The entire gondola journey has 6 stations (four passenger stations and two angle stations). The full length of the route is 4.03 kilometers.

Operating Stations

Taipei Zoo Station, Taipei Zoo South Station, Zhinan Temple Station and Maokong Station.
